Subject: No guest list! Mah bad... Date: Thu, 26 May 2005 11:14:28 -0400 From: The BROWNMAN Organization: Brownman Music Inc. -- http://www.brownman.com To: Brownman's Big Ass Mailing List Ok gang, Mah bad - there is no guest list... in my post South American haste, I misinterpreted the $10 ticket situation... there ARE $10 tickets - but there's no "signing up" for them and totally subject to availability... The festival director, Larry Rossignol responsed right away to slap my wrist and correct me and was kind enough to write a personal note to the mailing list in explaination... here you go: ============================================= HELLO everyone on Brownman's big ass mailing list We would love to be able to let all of you in for $10, hell, we would do it for free if we could. However, the truth is we are selling a festival experience, five stages of great music, with a dozen or more bands for just $30. We urge you to buy a $30 ticket if you can afford it and spend five or six hours with us, check out a whole lot of music AND see the monster Cruzao show at either 8 or 10pm (or both if you just stay in the venue). HOWEVER, if things are a little tight and you just don't want to spend $30 right now here are your realistic options: 1. Show up for the 8pm show but you likely won't get in unless really bad rainy weather keeps walk up patrons away and if there is clearly lots of room. If you show up and can't get in just hang out at the distillery, go for a beer and come back for the 10pm show. You can also go to the Pure Spirits Patio to hear a great jam band called Exitman. There will definitely be $10 admission available on that stage. Hang there and later show your hand stamp and get into Cruzao or the midnight jam for just $5. 2. Show up for the 10pm show. STILL NO TOTAL GUARANTEE but chances are good that after the show starts, IF there is capacity we will let in as many as we can for $10 or $5 with a Pure Spirits Patio stamp. 3. Brownman has graciously agreed to host a MIDNIGHT JAM!!!! He is right now busily trying to get as many members of the monster to stick around and there will probably be some other guests too. $10 for the midnight jam. We have good beer and wine at non rip off prices too. sincerely Larry Rossignol Festival Director Distillery Jazz Fest ============================================= So my apologies to those who emailed me already asking to be on the non-existant guest list - and good luck to those who are gonna try and get in at the $10 price. Is like a night in Vegas... but with a latin-jazz big band instead of a craps table. If you can't get in and can't afford the actual ticket price, I'm hoping to have another Monster concert before year's end. For those that can afford it - do come and check it out - it's gonna be heavy. And $30's pretty reasonable price when you consider that gets you into 5 different stages all night long, including the Monster gig - which contains 15 of the top latin, jazz and urban artists on one stage for 90 minutes of Monster Madness. I know it sucks if you're a student and $30 is your grocery money that week, or couldn't care less about what else is goin' on and just wanna see the Monster, or are a bass fan who wants to see Marc Rogers and Paco Luviano go head to head... but thus is life young jedi. And hey - if the gigs are super hot, we'll hopefully have strong enough material recorded that night to release a record... and it'll be just like you were there... um... only not. How'm I doing here? Are people who can't afford to come feelin' any better yet? A'ight - all those who can't afford to come get a date with my brother. I'll arrange it. Email me back saying you ain't gonna come but wanna see my brother in a dress and I'll hook you up. And on that frightening note: A'ight... I'm out. Peace. - Brown P.S. - speaking of Marc in a dress... have you guys seen the new ALI BROS website?
